2014 Favourites

Happy new year! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I thought I'd put together a few things that I have been using a lot this year and that I've really loved.

I decided to try out the Liz Earle skincare just because I needed a change and I've heard good things about it, I've not had it for long but I do see a change for the better in my skin by using these products. Although I'm quite lazy and it's sometimes so much effort to go through the stages it's worth it in the end.

  • There is not enough good things I can say about the Make Up Forever foundation, it makes my skin look so good and flawless. The next time I'm away and near a Sephora I will definitely be stocking up on this!
  • The Colab dry shampoo is obviously been talked about on blogs since it came out but I only got around to trying it recently and I love it, it smells good and it just feels so much better on your hair than other products I've tried!

  • Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is always a favourite to keep your make up looking nice on a night out so you don't have to keep reapplying every couple of hours!

The body shop always have good smelling products but the glazed apple smell is just incredible, it's lovely for this time of year but I'm definitely going to be using it all year long I just can't get enough of it!!

Winter means one thing to me - hot drinks. I am a hot chocolate fan and this cute ceramic travel mug from Costa is perfect to drink it out of! I thought all the designs were really cute but this little snowman one was my favourite and I love it so much!

Now these cameras have been around for a while and I'm extremely late to the party on this one but I've wanted one for so long and I finally decided to go for it and get one and I don't regret it at all. The quality of the pictures are actually really good for the size and amazon do great deals on the film so you can buy a few bundles at a time and it'll last longer! I'm really lazy when it comes to printing out pictures from my laptop so it's nice to have a camera that can print out the moment you've captured instantly!

Nars is a brand I've loved for ages and I got my first satin lip pencil in Hyde Park last Christmas from my boyfriend and I loved it!! So when this mini set came out I needed to get it and lucky for me he bought it for my Christmas. The range of colours is really nice and definitely colours I would use all the time!

A similar product is the maybelline colour drama pencils and I love these just as much, especially Keep it Classy which took me multiple Boots and Superdrugs to find because it was sold out everywhere but I was determined! I've also got Berry Much and Red Essential which I did a post on about a month ago.

The last couple of lip product is this set from Charlotte Tilbury to give you the perfect red lip, it came with a lip liner, lipstick and a lip gloss. You can't really go wrong with a red lip or Charlotte Tilbury make up so this was the perfect set and again I love it!

What were some of your favourites from 2014?

Advent Calander round up - part 2

This is the second half of all the beauty goodies I got in my You Beauty Advent Calender. Days 11 to 24 and probably my last post until after Christmas! All in all it was a good calender and I will probably be getting another beauty one next year!

I'm going to put my only disappointment with this calender at the beginning and then get on with all the good stuff - I have yet to try the Laura Mercier primer so I was really looking forward to getting it in the calander. Unforutnately I got double of another product (Sleep mask tan by James Read) which I'm really unlikely to use so I was a bit annoyed that that happened but what can you do!

So in days 11 - 24 I got:
  • Shampoo and conditioner by John Master organics
  • Sleep plus pillow spray
  • Fortune body scrub
  • A EGF serum by Boieffect
  • Youthmud tingelxfioliate treatments by GlamGlow
  • Porefessional by benefit
  • Root boosting blow dry lotion by John Frieda
  • Nail Rehab by Sally Hansen- which I love!
  • Blue velvet eyelash curlers by eyeko
  • Stemcell Lipbalm
  • Fleur de Figuier Fragrance by Roger & Gallet
  • Rose Bath Oil by Maddi Alexander
  • Another Sleep tan mask which isn't pictured.& I've also forgotten one more product that I seem to have already misplaced!

My Little Box 2

''Christmas isn't just a season, it's a feeling."

This months 'My Little Box' was by Fleur de Force and again I have been pleasently surprised. It was packed with things to decorate your Christmas Presents as well as beauty and skincare products! And as always a lovely little magazine with interviews, recipes and DIY's.

The first couple of things I got were some gift tags, string and patterned masking tape. I think these are all so cute and even though most people rip apart the presents as soon as they get them (myself included) I do like to try and make them look pretty. Patterned masking tape is something I've never thought of but it'll be a nice easy way to make the presents look even cuter.

The next thing I got was one of these headbands, it's a lovely colour with little glittery bits and its also really soft. I'm normally more of a hat person but I do really like to wear these if I ever have my hair up because my ears get freezing! So this is a lovely alternative to wearing my hat.

In this pouch I got a lovely red lipstick which is said to suit every skin tone, a cowshed body lotion which smells lovely and a L'Occitane Creme Precieuse. I love the L'Occitane products but they're not something I usually buy for myself so I'm excited to get a little try of this!

Advent Calender Round Up

So this year I decided to go for a beauty calendar and opted for the YouBeauty one. So I thought I'd do a quick round up of what I've got from days 1-10 as I've been pleasantly surprised about what I got! Another amazing thing about this is that it comes with a little booklet of everything inside with some sort of code to get a discount online or a miniature when you buy something from their website again using a code.

These aren't in order because I couldn't actually remember what came when but first up is this!
Philip Kingsley conditioning pre-shampoo which sounds amazing, I cant wait to give this a go. I always love trying out new hair products!

Next is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Cleanser that came with a muslin cloth. I was so excited to see this because I've been wanting to try some of the Liz Earle skin care but I just haven't got round to it. This will definitely be getting repurchased though I love it!

Up next is this Caudalie body lotion, I've not actually used this properly yet but it smells good and the little sample I used on my hands was lovely!

Mascara is something I never get tired of trying either and this teeez dester metals mascara looks really good so I can't wait to give it a go!

Believe it or not I've never tried an ESSIE nail varnish. For some reason I've always looked at them and meant to buy them but never actually got round to it! So I was really looking forward to trying this and it's lovely, it's a gold and blue glittery polish which is a nice alternative to the usual Christmas glitters.

This Molton Brown is probably something I'd never go out and buy myself but I was quite pleasantly surprised by it. It smells quite nice and it's the perfect size to take if you're travelling!

This is another cleansing mask with red clay which I haven't tried out yet but I'm looking forward to doing it as it's suppose to brighten up your face and get rid of fatigue!

Burts Bees is one of those companies I think every loves, although I've only ever tried their lipbalms. So I was excited to get this hand cream which smells lovely and is actually really moisturising!

I'd heard of this company through some of the gift guides I'd read so actually lit this the very day I got it. This candle is the relax one and it smells amazing so this will definitely be getting repurchased with maybe some of the bath oils they do!

Behind each of dates there's a little quote from the company which I thought was a nice little touch and some of them are quite cute!
